Meet Your Trainer and Owner of DogHaus…. Jo!
Hi, I’m Jo — a lifelong animal lover and dog behavior specialist with a passion for helping both ends of the leash. I grew up on farms surrounded by animals, spending my early years horseback riding and even barrel racing. My professional journey with dogs began when I was 16, working as a kennel tech. From there, I dove into service and police K9 training, where I discovered my love for working with working, reactive and aggressive dogs.
Originally on track to become a veterinarian at Utah State University, I worked as a vet tech before realizing my real calling combined my love for animal behavior and my interest in human psychology. That led me to earn my clinical social work license — and now, I blend that knowledge to help dogs and their people find emotional balance and connection.
These days, I focus on helping dogs regulate their emotions and build confidence in a safe, supportive environment where learning can truly happen. My 12-year-old German Shepherd has been by my side through it all — the best teacher, partner, and proof that growth never stops.
